Summary

Description
English: From the newspaper, the Queenslander (Brisbane, Qld. : 1866-1939) 21 October 1905 page 20.No reference to Eumundi would be complete without some mention of Mr. Arundell —the father of the district, as it were. In all communities, either of men or animals, some one must assume leadership ; and from the time when the main camp was in full swing Mr. Arundell has supplied the physical wants of the place from the comprehensive stock contained in a colonial "general store," in the management of which he is ably assisted by his two sons. There are many in Brisbane who will remember seeing Mr. Arundell wending his way to the old "Courier" office in the very small hours of the morning to " publish" the morning paper ; but he shook the city dust from off his boots and took on a generous coating of scrub mud in its place, and the city seldom sees him now.
