Description
English: This historical image features a Civil Air Patrol Sikorsky S-39 (civil registry NC54V) at Suffolk Airport during World War II. It was primarily used for search-and-rescue activities, and occasionally for coastal patrol and observation duties. CAP operated Coastal Patrol Base 17 out of the airport between July 1942 and August 1943.
