Deutsch: Donatus-Statuette an der Eckfront des denkmalgeschützten Klostergebäudes Maria Hilf zwischen Secunda- und Königstraße in Bornheim. Donatus von Münstereifel (Gedenktag: 30. Juni), einer von vielen Heiligen des Namens Donatus (lat.: der Geschenkte)[1], ist ein Wetterpatron und der Ortspatron Bornheims. Die Legende beschreibt ihn als einen römischen Feldherrn des 2. Jahrhunderts, den Befehlshaber der Legio XII Fulminata (Blitz- oder Donner-Legion), der den Märtyrertod gestorben sei. Es gibt in Bornheim eine Donatusstraße (zwischen Pohlhausen- und Kallenbergstraße) und eine Donatus-Apotheke. Im Park des Bornheimer Schlosses (am Apostelpfad) stand von 1735 bis 1872 eine Donatuskapelle. Ihre Glocke hängt heute in der Servatiuskirche. Die Inschrift lautet: Donate, a voce fulminum defende nos grandinum, übersetzt: Donatus, behüte uns vor dem Schall der Gewitter und Hagelstürme[2].
