| Description |
Deutsch: Geschäftshaus in der Mittelstraße 2-4 in Berlin-Mitte, heute Sitz des Berliner Büros der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung. Es wurde um 1905 für die Neue Boden- und Aktiengesellschaft errichtet; der Architekt ist nicht bekannt. Die Fassade zeigt neobarocke und neoklassizistische Elemente. Das Gebäude mit sieben Achsen, die in den Obergeschossen durch Pilaster getrennt sind, weist die traditionelle Gliederung Berliner Geschäftshäuser in rustiziertes Sockelgeschoss, architektonisch herausgehobene Hauptgeschosse und ein Attikageschoss auf. Das Portal befindet sich in einem Mittelrisalit, der von einem Giebel bekrönt wird. Bei einem Umbau für die Deutsch-Asiatische Bank entstand 1926 eine neoklassizistische Schalterhalle im Hof. Das Haus war in der DDR-Zeit Sitz der Redaktion der Neuen Zeit. Es ist als Baudenkmal gelistet. |
