Description
English: A set of shorthand 'ciphers' in a ca. 1300 copy of a ca. 1175 CE treatise on the art of legal penmanship (ars notaria), generally attributed to John of Tilbury, with the corresponding numerical values used by John of Basingstoke and introduced into the Cistercian Order. There are no characters for k, x or z.
