Looks like it went well[edit]

Looks like the first Dallas-Fort Worth meetup went pretty well. Time to start thinking about the Wikimedia Texas chapter, anyone? :)--Pharos (talk) 04:52, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, the meeting did go well. Not sure how to organize Wikimedia Texas, but I would be happy to participate in whatever capacity I can. Respectfully, DiverDave (talk) 13:13, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi, I would like to join and/or help with the possible foundation of Wikimedia Texas, and eager to help out. Respectfully, ansolo 72.64.97.82 (talk) 06:19, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So when's the next DFW meetup?[edit]

Seriously, it's been over a year now. When will we do this again? Arroxane (talk) 02:11, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps suggesting an "I (heart) Wikipedia" panel to a local science fiction convention might be a way to find a nucleus of involved editors for such a group. - Dravecky (talk) 07:20, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Or one of the anime cons. Q T C 04:37, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

More details needed for Great American Wiknic June 23, 2012[edit]

I think we need some more details, like the meeting time, and precise meeting location in the park.--Pharos (talk) 01:58, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do we have any details yet? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.170.252.1 (talk) 00:12, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Interest roster for Great American Wiknic June 22, 2013[edit]

If we get 3-4 interested (4-5 including me), I'll work out the details. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 20:05, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Failed. Insufficient interest by May 22. — TransporterMan (TALK) 13:00, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Let's start this up again![edit]

Three confirmed attendees is a good start, and you'll likely be able attract much more additional for a late-June WP:Wiknic, than at an unpublicized later event. Let me emphasize that the publicity for this has not even really started yet!--Pharos (talk) 13:48, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, you are possibly aware that the WP Texas Project is somewhat lacking in participation. That doesn't mean the editors aren't out there, just that they might not be actively connected to the Project itself to read your talk page notice. Stats isn't working right now, but I would be surprised if that talk page has more than 3 or 4 views per day. I would suggest putting this request on Wikipedia:Geonotice for it to appear on watchlists for editors located in the entire state of Texas. Dont limit it to DFW notifications.— Maile (talk) 14:19, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Pride[edit]

Are there any DFW residents interested in participating in Wiki Loves Pride 2014, a multi-national effort to improve coverage of LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects? Perhaps an edit-a-thon or a photography project? Please visit the project page for details or let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! --Another Believer (Talk) 17:34, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Calling All Wikipedians in the DFW Area for Edit-a-thon at Amon Carter Museum of American Art, October 10, 2015[edit]

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art has scheduled its first edit-a-thon for October 10, 2015, to be held in the museum's research library from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. We will be writing about the museum's history and collections, including key figures that played important roles in the museum's development. I am hoping to connect with any Wikipedians in the DFW area to assist us with this event. Sillyputty1967 (talk) 19:27, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep us posted here as things develop. I might be interested, depending on what else I've got going on in RL at the time. Most everyone who has posted on this page is still active in Wikipedia, so perhaps you'll get a response here. Best regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 20:49, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Argh, right in the middle of FenCon. Have fun, everybody. - Dravecky (talk) 20:50, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've told several people that I would be helping with this event as the editing / technical assistant for those who attend the event. Unfortunately my better half has just reminded me that we're going to be out of state on that weekend. I'd particularly appreciate it if any of you who I've notified about this might step into the breach and volunteer to serve in that position. If you're interested drop a note here or on my talk page and I'll put you in contact with the organizer of the event. I apologize to everyone for the false start. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 21:22, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The date of the event has been changed to October 10, 2015, and I will indeed be serving as the technical advisor. A event page should be forthcoming shortly. Pencil it in on your calendar and please sign up to give us a hand. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 17:59, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
