Western part of Pamban Island[edit]

Panoramic view of the western part of Pamban Island from the summit of its tallest peak, Mt. Gandhamadana. It was from the summit of this peak that the Hindu God Rama surveyed the coastline of Ravana's kingdom of Lanka prior to the legendary construction of Rama's Bridge or Adam's Bridge between India and Sri Lanka

The whole western part of Pamban island is covered in the picture, including the famed temple complex of Rameswaram and the television tower in the island, the tallest in India

  • This probably needs a comment. It's a useful image for its article, but the reality is that it's not that high quality, in particular it is very soft throughout. Also appears to have a slight clockwise tilt. It also may 'show' a lot of things, but most of them are so far away you can't make out any detail, for example you mention it shows that temple complex, but what can you really see of it? So it's useful, but unfortunately it wouldn't be successful at FPC. --jjron (talk) 14:30, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
