Ivalice[edit]

Main page Articles
Ivalice Final Fantasy Tactics - Vagrant Story - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Final Fantasy XII

The topic covers the four video games set in the fictional world of Ivalice as stated by Square Co. and creator Yasumi Matsuno. These five articles are comprehensive, well-sourced and stable, and can thus constitute a Featured Topic. Note: There are some additional games set in Ivalice that have been announced (see Ivalice#Ivalice Alliance), but they have either not been released yet or not been released outside of Japan yet, meaning they don't have to be included in this Topic for now. • Support - All the games are at criteria, and the two that will come out within a year have not reached the point where they could be made into GA's. Judgesurreal777 19:27, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question, I'm not too sure about the name of the FT. It's okay I guess and I can't think of a better one. A question, does there exist a possible name for the FT if and when the related "Characters", "Music" and such articles are included? Axem Titanium 00:36, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Second question, maybe the FT name should be just "Ivalice" since it still sufficiently covers all articles within the topic while at the same time addressing Circeus' concerns about not being able to write an article about the FT's name? Axem Titanium 03:38, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • I agree. It's just a detail, but if it's better this way, then let's rename the topic. Kariteh 11:47, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong oppose these articles do not "cover a specific topic". Circeus 01:12, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - they do cover a specific topic- video games which are set in the fictional world of Ivalice. --PresN 06:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • "Games et in Ivalice" is not a topic we can write an article about, and Ivalice sure doesn't have subtopics, as such the topic fails criterion 1. Circeus 16:00, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support (as contributor)—looks good. Solid unity article, and each game article has solid quality. — Deckiller 14:52, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment since two mentioned, one of your "not released outside of Japan" is a GA. igordebraga 23:50, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reluctant oppose - As much as I admire the qualtiy of these articles, I feel I have to agree with Circeus. The topic does seems a bit lose based on 1(b) The articles have a clear similarity with each other under a well-defined topical scope. They do have a clear similarity, but the topical scope doesn't seem that well-defined. There's just something about the name and idea that just feels a bit off, no offense. There is also 1(d) There is no obvious gap (missing or stub article) in the topic. My personal interpretation is that Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions should be a part of this as well, since they are video games set in Ivalice. I know War of the Lions is a remake of the Tactics, but it's still a separate video game and a separate article. And the current proposed scope is "Video games set in Ivalice". Like I said, the articles are good and I respect the quality and effort put into them, but I feel that the topic doesn't meet the first FT criteria. My two cents. • If War of the Lions reaches GA and both of those articles are added to the topic, would you reconsider your stance? — Deckiller 02:21, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • I am also reluctant to support on the basis of the name of the FT. For the reasons stated above, I would much prefer simply "Ivalice". In addition to Kariteh, does anyone else support this change? Axem Titanium 02:36, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
        • I don't mind either way. — Deckiller 02:49, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
          • It would definitely be a step in the right direction. I think renaming the topic to better define the scope would be another good step. (Guyinblack25 talk 05:10, 27 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]
            • I've renamed the topic. Kariteh 08:28, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
            • This is worse. none of the game can realistically be considered a "subtopic" of Ivalice! Circeus 20:18, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Meh, one of those "rock and a hard place" noms. If nobody else chimes in, I'll recommend withdrawal; either way will have someone objecting. — Deckiller 20:27, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well, one thing that comes to mind is an Ivalice Alliance topic, but that would require an article about the Ivalice Alliance itself. Don't know if that would be possible, and it could probably only include Ivalice and the games in the Ivalice Alliance. Just a thought. (Guyinblack25 talk 17:49, 28 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]
  • Fail - No consensus reached to promote. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 20:32, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
