The Wikimedia Incubator is a wiki run by the Wikimedia Foundation. Its purpose is to host language editions of Wikimedia projects which do not yet have their own separate wiki. On request, they are tested and proven worthy by the Language Subcommittee whether to open their own subdomain of Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikiquote or Wikinews. Other Wikimedia projects are either multilingual or hosted on a different wiki.
