Throwing Stones[edit]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for creating the article Throwing Stones (Grateful Dead song). But, an editor has suggested that the new article be merged into the article In the Dark (Grateful Dead album). They are saying that the song "Throwing Stones" may not meet the Wikipedia guidelines for notability. On Wikipedia, "notability" (or "notable") has a special meaning. Basically, it means that the subject has received significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. The subject, no matter how worthwhile in itself, must be "notable" in this sense to have its own article. Notability is shown by the article having appropriate references as footnotes. You can read a lot more about all this at WP:GNG (in general) and at WP:NSONG (for songs). There's a discussion about the new article at Talk:In the Dark (Grateful Dead album)#Proposed merge with Throwing Stones (Grateful Dead song), and you can join in there if you like. Problems with upload of File:01Wembley fade.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:01Wembley fade.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Europe '72 individual albums[edit]

Hello! I noticed that you've created an article for Europe '72: Wembley Empire Pool, London, England (4/7/1972). But, I'm not sure that the individual concert albums from the box set Europe '72: The Complete Recordings meet the Wikipedia criteria for notability. As I mentioned above, that means that the subject has received significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. You can read about this in quite a bit of detail at WP:GNG (in general) and WP:NALBUM (for albums). Because of that, it's possible that another editor will end up nominating that article, and any similar articles, for deletion. So, you might want to hold off on spending a lot of time on creating similar articles. Just a suggestion. Dave's Picks Volume 21[edit]

Hello! Feel free to add songwriting credits to the Dave's Picks Volume 21 article if you want to. It's okay for some songs to have them and some not, more can always be added later. I've just added the ones for disc 1 myself. If you're not sure who wrote some of the songs, a good reference for that is the "Songs Recorded by the Grateful Dead" page at deaddisc.com (click on "info" to see the information about a particular song). And if you want formatting tips you can refer to MOS:ALBUM#Track listing. Another possible fun project: Find song articles to link to. Dave's Picks Volume 22[edit]

Greetings, BruinsFan24. Thanks for creating the Dave's Picks Volume 22 article. I do have one suggestion for you: When creating new articles, it's much better if you include several references, in the form of footnotes, to establish that the subject of the article -- whether it's a Grateful Dead album, or anything else -- meets the Wikipedia general notability guideline: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." In other words, any article should have a few third-party references to show that the subject has been written about enough so that it qualifies to have its own Wikipedia article. For Dave's Picks Volume 22, that's been taken care of, here and here, but I'd say keep it in mind for future reference, pun intended. Yes, it's all about the references, in my view. You can find them using Google or another search engine. Because if you create an article and you don't include any references, then it's quite possible that someone will nominate the article for deletion, on the basis that the subject of the article does not meet the general notability guideline. Just a friendly suggestion. P.S. Looking at this part of the Wikipedia Manual of Style, the article "That's It For The Other One" should be renamed to "That's It for the Other One", with a lower case "for" and "the". — Mudwater^(Talk) 00:56, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
