SEW (Smart Energy Water) (formerly Smart Utility Systems) is American company founded in 2012 and headquartered in Irvine, California.

The provides a software-as-a-service customer and workforce engagement platform for utilities.

SEW's geographic presence includes US, Canada, Jamaica, Colombia, Brazil, Ireland, United Kingdom, Portugal, Luxembourg, Germany, Hungary, South Africa, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Australia.

It also has operations in Irvine, Dallas and Las Vegas in the United States, and in Noida and Bangalore in India.

SEW was founded by Deepak Garg in 2012.[1]

In June 2015 SEW built solutions on SAP Multichannel Foundation for Utilities and Public Sector.[2]

In 2015 SEW introduced SmartIX platform that included water analytics in drought prevention and water conservation.

In January 2016 SEW opened new offices in Irvine.[3] In February 2016, SEW partnered with Planet Water Foundation.[4]In July 2016, SEW received the Smart Grid Product of the Year Award.[5]

In 2018 Simply Energy became SEW's first customer in Australia, followed by Waterscan in the United Kingdom and UGI International in Europe.

In 2019 the company provided products like solar, eMobility solutions, smart chatbots, carbon footprint, and governance.[6]

In March 2019 SEW entered into a global partnership with Choice Energy. In April 2019, SEW signed a multimillion dollar global collaboration agreement with Microsoft.[7]

In October 2019 SEW and SAP joined hands.[8]

In November 2019, SEW and Bridgewater Consulting Group entered into global partnership.[9]

In July 2020, SEW entered into a partnership with Amazon Web Services.[10] In August 2020 SEW partnered with Tech Mahindra[11], PwC and Accenture.[12]

In September 2020 the company received the 2020 Utility Industry Spotlight Awards for Global Customer Innovation.[13] In May 2021, SEW entered into a global alliance with Cyanconnode Holdings PLC.[14]

In 2021 SEW entered into global strategic alliance with Deloitte.[15] In May 2022, Deepak Garg, CEO, EnerTech Capital's Mobility Advisory Board.[16]

In September 2022, SEW forged a partnership with Util-Assist.[17] In November 2022 SEW established a partnership with Siemens Smart Infrastructure .[18]

In November 2022, SEW also entered into a partnership with GridX.[19] SEW and Zpryme announced the 2022 WE3 Innovator Award winners.[20]

In March 2023 SEW entered into a partnership with Utility Solutions Partners (USP).[21] In July 2023, the company opened new headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.[22]

In September 2023 Kapil Dev, world cricketer and former Indian World Cup team Captain joined the Executive Advisory board at SEW.

In October 2023 SEW announced its acquisition of GridExchange from Alectra Utilities Corporation.[23] SEW entered into a partnership with USP.[24]

In February 2024 the company announced the opening of its new office in Dallas, Texas, United States. In April 2024, SEW opened the new office in Greater Noida, India.
