This is one of the only websites showing a zoom lens in video motion, but sadly it doesn't include one essential feature - one of the lenses on the left should move to correct the focus. The need to have at least 2 lenses moving is a critical feature of all but the most trivial examples of zoom lenses. The other diagrams in the zoom lens page, however, do show the motion correctly Bblandford (talk) 13:26, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Without the movement to correct the focus, this creates a more serious flaw in this animation, in that the yellow light paths move incorrectly. In the wide angle position, i.e. when the central diverging element is at the left, the diagram shows the yellow light landing wider on the focal screen and therefore casting a larger image (i.e. greater magnification).
