Borderlines: the case of France and Marocco

This map is, in a way, quite problematic, because it shows the world with the old borderlines, and shows the colored areas with the current names. For instance, during his presidency, Roosevelt went to Casablanca in 1943 (and twice in Alger). Atmittedly, both were then French cities. So, in a way, he was indeed in France. But, geographicaly, he was in Marocco (or in Algeria): and it is quite absurd to see, on this map, that Marocco (as Algeria) is white, whereas France is colored. So far I can find (http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1459.html), it was Roosevelt's only trip in France during his presidency, if we except Dakar, in French AOF, and a conferency in Martinique in 1940). Could somebody find a solution? --Pierre-Yves Schanen (talk) 22:54, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
