Clarification that didn't clarify[edit]

There seems to have been several versions of this graphic. Earlier versions had unexplained dashed black lines. The latest version has 'clarified' these by turning them into solid black lines, which the key says means 'roll-on/roll-off', which normally means a kind of ship. And that is certainly the case for the Hamburg->Mostyn->St Nazaire->Pauillac and Cadiz->Pauillac legs, all of which were in solid black on the original.

However, unless somebody has built a ship canal smack across the middle of the Pyrenees without me noticing, this clearly cannot be the case for Getafe->Tolouse, or for that matter Beavais_>St Nazaire. So how exactly do these legs get operated?.
