  • This image is the only public photo of the important figure of the Türkçülük Davası (The Pan- Turkism Case), Nejdet Sançar. This picture can be seen in nearly every Turkish nationalist websites and magazines (ex. Bozkurt and Nihalatsiz.org, Hunturk.net). There are no claims about the copyright from his family (since it is a personal photo, the only people who have a right to claim copyright are his relatives). His image and his words are used by leading Nationalist organizations in Turkey. Even MHP use his work and figure in their teachings. This is an important detail because Atsız family is the arch rivals of the ideology of MHP. Organizations which connect themselves to the ideology of the Atsız brothers see MHP as a corrupted and dangerous right wing party. So they don't take action against nationalist magazines or websites, they don't take action against some rival ideologies... I prepared the whole article of Nejdet Sançar from zero and I don't think I made uncited claims against the memory of Nejdet Sançar. This means that there are no copyright problems about this image. It is an image just like the dozens of Atatürk images in Wikipedia. There is a more important thing than the legal case of the image. I hope it is not a simple attack on Nejdet Sançar just because his ideas were extreme. If my defence doesn't make enough sense, we can discuss it further and, of course, objectively. • Even if this image is the only surviving image of Nejdet Sançar, it is likely not licensed under the GFDL. It would be appropriate to use it under fair use if there is no free image available. --Iamunknown 21:09, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay then... Since there are no assaults in Nejdet Sançar's article and we don't gain any personal advantage from using his picture, we can classify it as a fair use picture but we have a problem. I don't know how to change its license tag. Deliogul 12:53, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
