I think, there is some clarification is required for that animation,

As per the second picture (moving mirrors), the blue dot will hit on the vertical mirror more slowly than the one in the stationary image.

But in the same way, it will hit on the inclined mirror more faster than that in the fixed picture.

So the time taken to meet the red dot will be same in both cases.

The faster time to reach the beam splitter does not make up for the slower time to reach the mirror.
It's sort of like, if you drive from Los Angeles to San Diego at 70 mph one way, and 40 mph the other way, you will have taken more time to drive the two-way distance than if you had driven at a constant 55 mph both ways.
