West Germany joining date[edit]

In this map, ‘Map of NATO countries chronological membership’, the date of West Germany joining NATO is given as 1954 which unfortunately contradicts the main article History section, which says “The incorporation of West Germany into the organization on 9 May 1955...”, and also contradicts a table in the main article that lists the membership and the dates they joined, that says West Germany joined NATO on 9th of May 1955. The map below this one, ‘titled Membership of NATO in Europe’, has West Germany coloured in as joining in 1955, again contradicting this map.

Islands[edit]

The French island of Corsica and Italian islands of Sardinia and Sicily have been missed. I might try to correct this later. --Astrokey44 08:33, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about Saarland?[edit]

Didn't it join in 1957? - rst20xx (talk) 17:01, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blinking[edit]

Can we turn the blinking off? Having the different colors is great, and I think eliminates the need for blinking, which is distracting. —ScouterSig 20:00, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. The Blinking is really annoying. stanley bulgaria 05:02, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Africa[edit]

Are the African borders on the earliest dates correct? And wouldn't the these countries under colonial rule also be part of NATO, for example Algeria being part of NATO, because it was part of France until ~1962? Mulder1982 (talk) 07:55, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone add Albania and Croatia in the map?[edit]

Albania and Croatia are the new member countries of NATO and the Organisation now has 28 members so please can someone add these two countries in the map... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiranpoika (talkcontribs) 20:26, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we need to add these two full members. A B X T 04:39, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not to be too... precise... I guess you could say, but the border between Serbia and Montenegro (and the one between Serbia and Kosovo aswell) is missing on the 2009 image. Should probably be added. Mulder1982 (talk) 17:14, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
True, after the year 2004, borders showing Montenegro and Kosovo should appear on the map.--A B X T 18:55, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Montenegro and Kosovo became independent from Serbia on 15 June 2006 and 17 February 2008, respectively. stanley bulgaria 04:57, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

France[edit]

Why don't we change the map to show France pulling out of NATO, and then rejoining? -- Kndimov (talk) 22:41, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Finland[edit]

Shouldn’t Finland be in dark blue now? Watch Atlas791 (talk) 04:43, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
