Confusing page resulted when I clicked on a red link[edit]

Background[edit]

You can [feel free to] SKIP this ("Background") subsection if you are more interested in an apparent (perhaps one should instead say "alleged", here?) gem instance of (perhaps!) some broken infrastructure, and less interested in the picayune TYPO that led me to stumble upon that "gem".

[1.A] I spotted [what seemed to be] the character string

WP:Why create and account?

(depicted graphically) in the image called "[[File:Main_Page_Usability.png]]".

[1.B] I suspected that this was a TYPO, or some other kind of mistake, either because

  • [1.B.i] the actual page WP:Why_create_an_account? contains (as part of its name) the word "an" ... *NOT* the word "and" -- ! --
    ... or else because
  • [1.B.ii] even if the hypothetical page WP:Why_create_and_account? were to exist, then ... we would still have a case in which the presence of the word "and" in the name of that page, would (IMHO) constitute a blatant TYPO ... since [in my opinion] the word "an" fits better there (it is appropriate) and the word "and" does *NOT* fit well there (it would strike me as ... being somewhat of a poster child for the very concept of a mistake -- such as a TYPO -- waiting to be caught.)

The Plot Thickens[edit]

So, at that point, I was planning to add a section to the "Talk:" page (*this* "Talk:" page) ... even if it meant

-- (since the "hyperlink" pointing to the [non-existent, at that time] "Talk:" page, was indeed a red link) --

having to *create* a new "Talk:" page where there previously had been none.

OK. So far, I did not think anything crazy had happened.

But, ... when I clicked on that red link to go edit (or ... "create") the "Talk:" page, (*this* "Talk:" page),

[2.A] there was also a (crazy looking) "Note:" there, that said [something like]

Note: The page "File:Main_Page_Usability.png" also does not exist.

Obviously, that sentence inside that little Note: ... struck me as being both false and misleading. I had seen the page "File:Main_Page_Usability.png" with my own eyes! (including the suspected -- or "alleged" -- TYPO, ... as mentioned above, in the "Background" sub-section.)

However,
[2.B] there *was* a hyperlink displayed as "Add Section" (or something like that), so ... I just decided to [go ahead and] click on that, and to "Add a section" -- (*this* section!) -- and it seemed to work OK, even though some piece of broken infrastructure [or something] seemed to have "thought" (or, seemed to have been "acting" as if) the file [or 'page'] "File:Main_Page_Usability.png" did not exist.

I do not know what went wrong here, in such a way as to result in that (liar liar pants on fire) false and misleading << Note: >>, when I had clicked on the (red link) word (or "button" or "clickable link", or ... whatever it was) that said "Talk".

Someone other than me is probably more qualified, to determine whether this is a 'high' or 'low' "priority" issue [to worry about], and/or to decide how best to -- and whether or not to even try to -- "figure out" what the explanation is. (Maybe I simply made some mistake? If so, then please forgive me [and ... enlighten me].)

Thanks! For listening[edit]
