Personal photo vs. official U.S. Army photo[edit]

This is a personal photograph, not an official photograph used by the U.S. Army and therefore not public domain. -Signaleer (talk) 17:10, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the licensing back to PD-USGov-Military-Army. The image was taken "during the course of the person's official duties". Whether they were photos intended for public release doesn't make a difference; see for example the Abu Ghraib photos, e.g. File:Abu Ghraib prison abuse.jpg. The uploader/author would have to "successfully claim that the photographs were not taken as part of his or her official duties", which the uploader and author (Tonker83) does not claim, since Tonker83 himself changed the licensing to PD-Army from the original licensing. -Gump Stump (talk) 17:25, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
