Mexico City[edit]

The Legislative Assembly of the Federal District has just passed a law making gay marriage and gay adoption legal. I request a change in color. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.157.138.133 (talk) 23:42, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The law just came into effect today, Mexico City definitely needs to be purple. Hihellowhatsup (talk) 18:09, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Colors[edit]

Arkansas should be red and Florida should now be purple, given the Florida lower court's ruling today.

Maine should be purple, due to gay marriage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.160.130.107 (talk) 01:48, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Canada[edit]

Canada should be all purple, because there is a federal law dealing with adoption for SSCs.

I'm not sure all Canada should be purple, but I think Nunavut should be change. Ron 1987 (talk) 16:45, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure all Canada should be purple. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.201.34.209 (talk) 03:57, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The main article says "Adoption by same-sex couples is legal in every province and territory.[23][24][25][26][27]". Either the map should be changed to support the main article, or the main article should be changed to support the map. One of the two is definitely wrong.

Iowa[edit]

Iowa should be purple now. Ron 1987 15:51, 5 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ron 1987 (talkcontribs)

Adoption in Canada[edit]

Where are references about the adoption in Canada? --Zotico (talk) 21:21, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maine[edit]

Maine needs to be purple now because they have equal rights in marriage and ALL the entitlements and benefits of marriage that come with it - and yes including adoption —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.148.207.230 (talk) 15:08, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maine and New Hampshire[edit]

Maine, Nevada and New Hampshire for the effective date will provide full joint adoption of children - please include these with the color purple on the North America map. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.148.207.230 (talk) 06:35, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Minnesota and Rhode Island[edit]

Minnesota and Rhode Island also allow same-sex couples the right to jointly adopt a child on the same level has opposite-sex couples, so both these states should also be purple. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.148.207.230 (talk) 04:28, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ohio[edit]

Ohio should be red, because agencies do not allow same gender couples the right to adopt children - because of a Marriage Amendment in the Consitution of Ohio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.148.207.230 (talk) 13:04, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ohio should be grey, just because LGBT people cannot adopt as a couple- they can still adopt as individuals, and there is no punishment for any infraction- thus not illegal, but also not explicitly legal. It's ambiguous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hanburyn (talkcontribs) 18:55, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Arkansas[edit]

Arkansas should be turned to grey 98.66.152.115 (talk) 21:46, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arkansas should be purple now that the Arkansas' Supreme Court has stuck down the law banning gay couples and individuals from adopting and fostering children. Ark. court strikes down law barring gay adoptions[1]

Florida[edit]

Florida should be purple. http://www.advocate.com/News/Daily_News/2010/09/22/Florida_Ends_Gay_Adoption_Ban/ Ron 1987 16:06, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

To the idiot who ruined this image, please take your activism elsewhere, Florida should be purple, as should Arkansas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.233.236.67 (talk) 03:27, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wisconsin[edit]

Wisconsin should be grey, its laws are ambiguous. Wisconsin law states no where that LGBT adoption is illegal. There is no known punishment or statue that explicitly prevents LGBT couples from adopting. LGBT Wisconsinites may adopt as individuals, as well as get into co-parenting agreements granted by Wisconsin courts. Wisconsin also has a state-wide domestic partnership registry, while not granting parenting rights, ensures that the dependents (children) of one spouse is covered by the other spouses health insurance. See LGBT rights in Wisconsin for more detailed information, but I'm unsure as to why Wisconsin was ever red in the first place... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hanburyn (talkcontribs) 18:59, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alberta[edit]

Alberta allows same-sex partners to fully adopt. Map should be coloured accordingly :) http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/news/story.html?id=643c0d39-9ccb-43d8-a7f1-9a034e83b06e&k=27198 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.222.175.238 (talk) 23:28, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arkansas[edit]

Please make it purple please! A adoption ban was rulled unconstitutional last year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.15.143.184 (talk) 21:08, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"A state law banning unmarried, cohabiting couples from adopting children or becoming foster parents is unconstitutional, the Arkansas Supreme Court ruled unanimously today."[2] Should the red on Arkansas be changed to purple in order to reflect this ruling? mdkarazim (talk) 17:21, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Michigan[edit]

I don't know how you want to recolor it, but adoption in Michigan is not illegal for gay people. Non-married couples can't jointly adopt, but married couples can jointly adopt and single people can individually adopt. Imzadi 1979  08:27, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Florida again[edit]

Florida has legalized gay adoption by single parents, but doesn't recognize joint adoption by unmarried couples, including gay couples.[1]--Cúchullain t/c 21:16, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Single LGBT adoption?[edit]

In many countries single LGBT people can adopt, so images of continents should be updated accordingly: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plik:World_same-sex_adoption_laws.svg--86.3.200.81 (talk) 12:34, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
