are those really the farmer's sons? he looks black while the kids look white, or at least the one beside the farmer is white. the kid behind them might be black due to the hair style.--24.109.218.211 (talk) 19:17, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had a close look at the pic's maximum resolution. The farmer himself is easily white. I see what you mean about the boy's hair, but we can see his left hand, which is white, and one pale ankle is visible, although of course this could be a sock. I think also, on the balance of probability, that a white farmer in 1930s Oklahoma wouldn't have associated with a black family, race relations being what they were.
