Hello, Terry Alphonse. What makes you think this image is from the 1870s? Sothern was born in 1826, and he appears to be about 30 in this photo. You can see in later photos that his face grew rounder as he aged. Also, what is the name of the photographer from the Gurney studio? Thanks. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:54, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
