compromising?[edit]

Hey, apparently this image needs some compromising. So whats it all about then? --87.244.96.199 (talk) 21:43, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo declared independence in 2008, but at the time the UN did not accept Kosovo 66.231.36.147 (talk) 20:32, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colors[edit]

The colors on this image are way off:

  • Yugoslavia's red is slightly too bright (it should be #dd0000)
  • Croatia's weird navy blue should be switched to light red, derived from the coat of arms, which is usually used to depict Croatia
  • Slovenia yellow? Only if there's no alternative
  • Bosnia should be white or light grey, as in the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Green implies pro-Bosniak (Muslim) bias
  • Serbia and Montenegro (i.e. FR Yugoslavia) should be blue
  • Serbia should be blue, as in the blue from the Serbian flag (why red, ffs?)
  • Montenegro grey? Macedonia purple? There's no alternative so fine, however Montenegro should probably be light blue as in the blue from the Republic of Montenegro (federal) flag.

Lets try to make this image as perfect as we can? --DIREKTOR (TALK) 00:47, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that colors on this map should match flags. 1) The purpose of the colors is to make it easy for a reader to distinguish the separate areas, not to educate anyone on pseudo-nationalistic color preferences. 2) Every flag of each entity on the map has multiple colors on their flags. So which do you pick? For Slovenia, you don't like yellow. Well, their flag is red white and blue, and you've already picked two different shades of blue (which will make the map confusing), red for Croatia, and white for Bosnia. Green implies pro-Bosnian (muslim) bias? How? In conclusion, the colors are fine the way they are. They are fulfilling the purpose that they were designed for, and any attempt to re-color the map based on flags would only create unnecessary and possibly never-ending debate and potentially make the map confusing (e.g. multiple shades of blue for separate entities). --75.97.10.52 (talk) 14:02, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
