To do with the next update[edit]

Do not do an update just for this, but do it in addition, the next time you update:

1- SOHR reports that “regime forces advanced and took control over the villages of Al Homor, Al Slaleyyi, Al Fallaha, Al Ma’ruf and Al Maqbara.” We were able to locate Al Homor and Al Slaleyyi (but not the others). If you could move a little bit down the red-black frontline to at least make Al Homor and Al Slaleyyi be in the red area, it would be great. Also, label the two towns.

2- If you could remove the label “Hasaka” from the middle of the city, it would be good, because it is cumbersome and obvious from the caption.

3- It would be good to label the Electrical Substation and the Juvenile Detention Centre (they are already drawn on the map).

4- It would be good to label the town Sulaymaniyah. Tradediatalk 18:29, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ghuwayran[edit]

SOHR reports SAA advance in Ghuwayran. The western part should go red. Paolowalter (talk) 13:55, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the whole neighbourhood should go red (new SOHR report). Tradediatalk 15:10, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why does it take so long to get an update? Paolowalter (talk) 20:52, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SAA advance south east Hasaka[edit]

https://twitter.com/deSyracuse/status/595523308348710912 reports the towns taken by SAA. Put red also Rad Sharqa, Hamar al Sharquiyah whose name correspond to http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/syrian-army-captures-8-villages-in-southeast-al-hasakah/ claim.Paolowalter (talk) 11:29, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Complementing Paolowalter here is a map which clearly shows SAA advance east of Hasakah city:

If we trust the following map https://twitter.com/CizireCanton/status/597790850614206464 some change on the west side is required.Paolowalter (talk) 18:33, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

IS enters Hasakah City[edit]

Pro-government source confirms that IS moved into the south-western districts of Al-Nashwa and Liliyah in Hasakah two days ago - here. This Pro-kurdish map also has IS in the eastern part of the city that is known as "red villas" (map) here.91.20.97.162 (talk) 12:16, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Now the map is obsolete and should be changed following e.g. https://twitter.com/CizireCanton/status/615605225236398080. Paolowalter (talk) 20:19, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

whats that green area in Al Aasrah and Al Kallasah[edit]

On other Syrian civil war maps green means mainstream rebel control but no one is reporting on their return to the al Hasakeh region. The key for this map dose not list green at all. If they did (I see no way that's possible)that would be a vary important development. if that is intended to mean something else please explain it. the most likely explanation is that this is an error in that case it should be fixed now. also what is that orange area near Azizia? I assume it is contested territory but on the key with the map the block for contested looks brown. this is very confusing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.245.243.173 (talk) 22:28, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit[edit]

Can someone please edit map. Cizire Canton has recently updated its map on the situation in Hasakah: https://twitter.com/search?q=cizire%20canton&src=typd Also can we change the blue areas on the map (which represents Sutoro control) to yellow (kurdish/ypg control) as Sutoro is allied with the Kurds and is not present anywhere else on the syrian civil war map.Prohibited Area (talk) 18:02, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hasaka liberated[edit]

From many source on twitter Hasakah is ISIS free. It is probably time to change the map accordingly. Paolowalter (talk) 11:13, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To back it up for you per: http://www.wsj.com/articles/rebel-group-flees-headquarters-ending-clash-with-al-qaeda-offshoot-in-syria-1438451776 and http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/syria/11778095/Kurdish-fighters-flush-Isil-from-key-town-in-Syria.html --Damirgraffiti |☺What's Up?☺ 19:02, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for the heads up.--Damirgraffiti |☺What's Up?☺ 20:25, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Since Al-Hasakah city was completely liberated on August 1, can someone please update the map? Here are two maps of the current situation inside of the city [1] (the first one depicts the Syriac Military Council's control of the city) [2] in the city, and here is a map of the current situation in the countryside to help with the update. IS in Geweran neighborhood?[edit]

According to aranews.net, Syrian warplanes launched several airstrikes on ISIS positions in Geweran neighborhood. Wikimapia: Ghuwayran / Geweran. Could we change the map acordingly? --Hogg 22 (talk) 10:41, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Or it was taken by SAA in July 2015? --Hogg 22 (talk) 10:43, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
