English: Tyne Rowing Club, Newburn Riverside, near to Newburn, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Great Britain.

The club was founded in 1852 and is amongst the oldest sporting clubs in England. The building here is the club's third boathouse and was opened on the 6th April 1957 by Viscount Runciman <a title="http://www.tynerowingclub.org/pages/history_16403.cfm" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.tynerowingclub.org/pages/history_16403.cfm">Link</a><img style="padding-left:2px;" alt="External link" title="External link - shift click to open in new window" src="http://s0.geograph.org.uk/img/external.png" width="10" height="10"/>

The beard of the Tyne River God (on the front wall) symbolises the joining of the South and North Tyne Rivers. He bears flaming coals on his head, a pick and shovel, birds, fish and nets which represent Tyneside's early industries <a title="http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/newcastlecollection/tyne-god" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/newcastlecollection/tyne-god">Link</a><img style="padding-left:2px;" alt="External link" title="External link - shift click to open in new window" src="http://s0.geograph.org.uk/img/external.png" width="10" height="10"/>
