Summary
| Description |
English: This sculpture used to stand on the former cite of the market cross in the centre of Trowbridge, where it was unveiled in May 2000, but was moved to its present location, outside the Trowbridge Civic Centre, in 2012. Designed by Patrick Hallissey, Mervyn Grist and Michael Tollitt, it is designed in the shape of the hand shears used in the production of woollen cloth products (Trowbridge has heritage in this industry), but is also functional, featuring terracotta figures made by Ian Marlowe that depict the town's history, alongside a street plan. |
