DescriptionSt. Martin de Porres RC Church, Buffalo, New York - 20200514.jpg
English: St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 555 Northampton Street, Buffalo, New York, May 2020. Consecrated on March 11, 2000 by Bishop Henry Mansell, this Postmodern-style edifice was the first new Catholic church to be built within the Buffalo city limits in half a century; it houses the merged parishes of St. Matthew, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Boniface, and St. Benedict the Moor. St. Martin de Porres is unique as Buffalo's only majority-black Catholic church (and one of only 50 in the United States), with a rousing gospel choir providing musical accompaniment to services.
