English: the upper caption, "DOWN WENT ____", and the lower caption, M'GINTY RECEIVES A FEW RUSSIAN VISITORS", allude to the 1889 song "Down Went McGinty" by Joseph Flynn; here, the Russian sailors are "going down to the bottom of the sea" because their ships have been sunk as a result of battles in the Russo-Japanese War.
