Note: Solanum mauritianum Scop. is native to the Atlantic coasts of South America (southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Northern Argentina) but it is naturalized in many areas with tropical, subtropical and warm-temperate climate in North America, Africa and Eurasia. In Liguria Solanum mauritianum Scop. is recorded for a single location at Bevera (Municipality of Ventimiglia, Province of Imperia). Its population consisted in a great specimen (about 4 m in tall) and of an age no less than 10 years old and by some young plants (aged between 1 and 2 years). The oldest specimen bear fruits that ripen, her seeds germinate frequently but most of the plantulae do not survive the winter.
