Deutsch: Schema des Schrägwalzvorganges von Rohren
  1. Draufsicht auf die Anordnung der Walzen
  2. Beginn des Walzvorganges: Der Rohling wird von links an die Walzen herangeführt.
  3. Durch die schräge Anordnung der Walzen beginnt sich im Kern des Rohlings eine Höhlung zu bilden.
  4. Im weiteren Verlauf wird der Rohling über den Dorn gezogen, wodurch eine gleichmäßige Ausbildung des Rohres erreicht wird.
English: A schematic of rotary piercing. Key:
  1. Roller configuration
  2. The process starts with the blank fed in from the left.
  3. The stresses induced by the rolls causes the center of the blank to fracture.
  4. Finally, the rolls push the blank over the mandrel to form a uniform inner diameter.
