Summary

Description
English: Original caption: "Here are the first exclusive pictures of the alleged Ku Klux Klan murders at Mer Rouge, Louisiana, that have stirred the nation. F. Watt Daniel, ex-service man, and Thomas F. Richards were kidnaped by a masked band, and never reappeared. Governor Parker ordered State troops to Mer Rouge to guard the divers seeking the bodies there under direction of J. D. Rooney, United States Agent, who declares the whole work was that of the K. K. K. While the divers were at work unknown men set off a charge of 1,000 pounds of dynamite in an effort to destroy the bodies, which, however, were brought to the surface. They had been weighted down. Arrests are already in progress. At the extreme left of the view of Agent Rooney and the diver is Tot Davenport, kidnaped at the same time, beaten and released."
