DescriptionNortheast corner of 2nd Avenue and Monroe Street, Spokane, Washington, c.1940s.png
English: A row of brick commercial buildings along West 2nd Street housing a fire extinguisher dealer and the Barton Automotive Company. According to Spokane city directories the Northwestern Fire Apparatus Co. occupied this building from 1942 into the 1960s. The Spokane Dry Goods (Crescent Service) Building and the smokestacks of the steam plant can be seen in the background. Nearly everything in this photo still stands as of 2022 (The Reliance Apartments at the end of the block is now a parking lot) and most are listed city landmarks.
