English: An image of the emission nebula NGC 6888, also known as the Crescent Nebula, in the constellation Cygnus. This object is approximately 5000 light years distant and 26 light years in diameter and is formed by high velocity stellar wind from the central star WR 136 colliding with gas previously shed from the star. This object was imaged in hydrogen-alpha and oxygen-III emission lines; red colors are hydrogen, and blue oxygen.
