Senator Susana Harp Iturribarria, who represents the State of Oaxaca in the Mexican Congress and is also a singer of traditional music, attends on March 25, 2022 a working dinner with WIPO Director General Daren Tang hosted by the Secretary of Culture Alejandra Frausto Guerrero at Mexico City's Palacio de Bellas Artes during an official visit to <a href="https://www.wipo.int/members/en/details.jsp?country_id=123" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Mexico</a>.
The Secretary of Culture outlined her Government's priorities, noting that intellectual property (IP) is a critical component to support the development of Mexico's creative economy. Mr. Tang pledged WIPO's support to Mexico in its efforts to strengthen it's IP-supported economy.
Senator Harp Iturribarria agreed about the critical role of IP in promoting innovation and creativity. She said using the tools of the IP system is a priority area for the Government.
