Description
English: Lakeside, Windermere station, 1951
View to buffer-stops, with a train for Ulverston waiting, headed by LMS Fowler class 4MT 2-6-4T No. 42376 (built 1932, withdrawn 11/62). The station and ex-Furness Railway branch from Ulverston was closed 31/8/41 - 3/6/46, then 6/9/65. However, since 2/5/73 the heritage Haverthwaite & Lakeside Railway have restored the end of the line from Haverthwaite.
