Summary
| Description |
Nederlands: Maximiliaan van den Bergh, de Antwerpse eigenaar van een jeneverstokerij die zijn naam droeg, kocht in 1853 in Meer landerijen graan te verbouwen. Tegen 1869 gingen de zaken zo goed dat hij hier een stokerij en een riant landhuis bouwde. De naam Maxburg is geïnspireerd op Maximiliaan. Na enkele keren van eigenaar te zijn veranderd, kwam het vlak voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog in handen van de toenmalige Meerse onderpastoor Naveau.
