| Description |
English: Gerolstein, where Józef was sent to the Officers Transit Camp. During the day the officers "worked in these buildings, making wire" we were told. They slept in tents on the edge of the town (therefore surviving the Allied bombing of the Gerolstein railway junction). Józef’s letter passed censorship. It included the location of the “German town, by the Belgian border...(from where write) those in captivity, once from Warsaw, the uprising ,now in the camp 11.xI.1944." |
