George Stringam moved to Glenwood in 1910 from Utah. Stringam ran in the 1921 Alberta general election as a UFA candidate in the Cardston electoral district and won. He won the seat again in 1926 and 1930, but lost to Social Credit candidate Nathan Tanner in 1935.
