Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8)	The text discusses how faithfully Peter Jackson keeps to the spirit of Tolkien's book, citing Steven D. Greydanus's example of the wizard Gandalf's return to the companions transfigured like the risen Christ, shining white and remaining unrecognised as Christ was. The image shows the surprising scene, allowing readers to make up their own minds as to whether Greydanus was correct.
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1)	No other illustration would do in this case, and anyway, the whole of the film trilogy is in copyright.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3)	This is the only example of a "religious" image from the film trilogy both in the article and indeed anywhere on Wikipedia. It is greatly reduced from the original.
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2)	It seems most unlikely at this distance in time, given the enormous success of the films and their associated merchandise, and the fact that the image is taken from a film clip at far higher resolution at the stated source on the Web.
