Summary

Description

Seen here looking South at the crossing with Market Street.

This area in San Francisco, was one of the first gay neighborhoods in the United States and still has a high proportion of LGBT residents.

At the middle-left of the picture you see the sign for the Castro Theatre, which is a Historic Landmark.

It also hosted the world premiere of the film "Milk" which told the story of the assassinated politician of that name - starring Sean Penn. Much of the film related to this area and was filmed here.
