For use in the article's "Recording" section. The image is used to support discussion of the drawn-out recording for George Harrison's 1974 single "Dark Horse". The record label was named after this 1973 composition, and the launch took place midway through the year-long production for the song and its parent album, Dark Horse. In addition, the main purpose of the Harrison–Shankar North American tour accompanying the single's release was to establish Dark Horse Records and promote one of the label's first releases, the Shankar Family & Friends album. As discussed in the article's Recording and Reception sections, Dark Horse Records had a significant impact on the quality of the released recording of "Dark Horse" and on its commercial and critical reception, due to Harrison's dedication to setting up the label and supporting its initial signings. Harrison's exhaustion through his having overextended himself on these projects had a detrimental effect on his health, which in turn had a profound impact on his solo career as a whole.
