Summary

Comparison of dimension-unlimited fluorescence imaging cycler microscopy (ICM) and standard three-parameter fluorescence microscopy

Description
English: (a) Dermoepithelial junction (human skin tissue section) measured by three-parameter fluorescence microscopy. (b) ICM, same location as in (a) resolves the basal lamina densa (LD) as a giant stoichiometrically controlled supermolecule and discerns the three basal lamina layers (lamina lucida, LL; lamina densa, LD, and lamina fibroreticularis, LF) as indicated by comparison with a transmission electron micrograph (c). (d) Profiles of 100 distinct biomolecules co-mapped by ICM. (e) Three-dimensional network of supermolecules (different colours, measured by ICM) on the cell surface of a single human blood T-lymphocyte[1][2]. (f) More than 7,000 different protein clusters in a human liver cell measured by ICM[3].
Scale bars: 10 µm (a,b); 50 nm (c); 1 µm (e); 10µm (f).
