Summary

Description
English: The MV Kurdistan was a Canadian oil tanker. On 17 March 1979, she became trapped in ice. After being struck by a wave, the vessel suffered a catastrophic structural failure, resulting in the first 255 feet of the ship being sheered off and the release of 10,000 tons of fuel oil into the ocean.
