Erstausgabetag der vier Wohlfahrtsmarken des Jahres 2006 zum Thema „Eisenbahnen in Deutschland“ war der 5. Oktober 2006 – neben dem „Fliegenden Hamburger“ (Wert: 45 20 Cent) waren der Henschel-Wegmann-Zug (1936; Wert: 14555 Cent), der Trans-Europ-Express (1957, VT 11.5; Wert: 55 25 Cent) und der InterCityExpress (2000, ET 403; Wert: 55 25 Cent) abgebildet.
