Der Ofen besteht aus einer Brennkammer, die von der rechten Seite aus befeuert wird, darüber ein Ofenrohr mit Rost in das alternativ auch ein Topf gestellt werden kann und darüber unter dem durchbrochenen Deckel eine Platte mit Löchern und Ofenringen für zwei Töpfe. Die Klappe vor der Brennkammer ist teilweise durchbrochen, auf der Innenseite der Klappe vor dem Ofenrohr findet sich die Inschrift GODIN & CIE A GUISE AISNE Der Ofen auf einem Sockel mit 4 Füßen und einem Hohlraum mit Aschenschublade. Die Ofenfabrik Godin & Cie wurde 1840 von Jean-Baptiste André Godin gegründet. Er war Sohn des Dorfschmieds, verließ mit 11 Jahren die Schule und eröffnete er im Jahr 1840 mit Unterstützung seines Vaters, der ihm 4000 Francs zur Verfügung stellte, in seinem Heimatort eine eigene Werkstatt, in der er mit Hilfe von zwei Arbeitern begann, Heizöfen zu bauen. Er leitete die aus dieser Werkstatt hervorgegangene Ofenfabrik bis zu seinem Lebensende. Später engagierte er sich auch als Sozialreformer. Unter der Dritten Französischen Republik war er von 1871 bis 1876 Abgeordneter des Départements Aisne und errichtete ab 1859 die Familistère de Guise, die erste Sozialsiedlung der Welt.English: Blue enamelled cooking stove by Godin & Cie from Guise, canton of Guise in the department of Aisne (northern France). People usually placed these stoves in smaller households in what used to be open fireplaces.
The stove consists of a combustion chamber, which is fired from the right side, above it a stove pipe with a grate in which a pot can alternatively be placed, and above it, under the openwork lid, a plate with holes and stove rings for two pots. The flap in front of the combustion chamber is partially pierced, and on the inside of the flap in front of the stovepipe is the inscription GODIN & CIE A GUISE AISNE The stove on a base with 4 feet and a cavity with ash drawer. The Godin & Cie stove factory was founded in 1840 by Jean-Baptiste André Godin. He was the son of the village blacksmith, left school at the age of 11 and in 1840, with the support of his father who provided him with 4000 francs, he opened his own workshop in his home village where he began to build heating stoves with the help of two workers. He managed the stove factory that emerged from this workshop until the end of his life. Later, he also became involved as a social reformer. Les gens plaçaient généralement ces poêles dans les petits foyers, dans ce qui était autrefois des cheminées ouvertes.
Le poêle se compose d'une chambre de combustion, qui est alimentée par le côté droit, au-dessus d'un tuyau de poêle avec une grille dans laquelle on peut alternativement placer une casserole, et au-dessus, sous le couvercle ajouré, une plaque avec des trous et des anneaux de poêle pour deux casseroles. Le volet devant la chambre de combustion est partiellement percé, et sur la face intérieure du volet devant le tuyau de poêle figure l'inscription suivante GODIN & CIE A GUISE AISNE La cuisinière sur une base avec 4 pieds et une cavité avec tiroir à cendres. La fabrique de poêles Godin & Cie a été fondée en 1840 par Jean-Baptiste André Godin. Fils du forgeron du village, il quitte l'école à 11 ans et en 1840, avec l'appui de son père qui lui fournit 4000 francs, il ouvre son propre atelier dans son village natal où il commence à construire des poêles de chauffage avec l'aide de deux ouvriers. Il a dirigé la fabrique de poêles issue de cet atelier jusqu'à la fin de sa vie. Plus tard, il s'est également engagé en tant que réformateur social. Sous la Troisième République française, il est député de l'Aisne de 1871 à 1876, et construit à partir de 1859 le Familistère de Guise, premier établissement social au monde. |
