Fair use in The Best of Delaney & Bonnie[edit]

Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws, and the stricter requirements of Wikipedia's non-free content policies, because:

1. The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article topic.
2. It is a low resolution image, and thus not suitable for production of counterfeit goods.
3. It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value.

The image is owned by the Warner Music Group, and is a low-resolution, reduced-size scan of the album's cover. The album has not been in print since the middle 1970's, so such a scan is among the only ways available to obtain an image for educational purposes.

This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the work or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers solely to illustrate the audio recording in question, on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the copyright law of the United States.
