Object history Das Wappen ist in den Farben Blau-Gold-Schwarz ausgeführt. Auf schwarzem Grund bildet ein blauer Schrägbalken, gesäumt von zwei Goldbalken und belegt mit drei goldenen Ahornblättern das ehemalige Gemeindewappen. Das Blau im Wappen versinnbildlicht den Raabursprung, die goldenen Schrägbalken bilden das bestimmende Element des Wappens der „Fladnitzer zu Hohenau“, deren Rittersitz am heutigen Winkelbauern-Hof angesiedelt war und die drei Ahornblätter deuten einerseits auf die drei Katastralgemeinden, zum anderen aber auf den 1240 erstmals urkundlich genannten deutschen Ortsnamen „Ahornawe“ aus dem sich später der Name „Hohenau“ entwickelt hat.
