With an extra carriage on the train today 32678 has just acted as a banking engine working up the hill from Rolvenden. It is now photographed at Tenterden Town station before setting out on the return journey.
A1 "Terrier" number 32678 (previously 78 Knowle) was built by the London Brighton and South Coast Railway at Brighton Works in 1880. In 1907 is was renumbered 678 and converted to push-pull working. In 1911 it was given a new boiler being converted to a class A1X. In 1929 it was sent to the Isle of Wight and renumbered W4 and W14 returning to the mainland in 1937 where it was again renumbered as 2678, then numbered 32678 by 1940 finally being withdrawn in 1963. In 1964 it was bought by Butlins and displayed at Minehead holiday camp then bought and rebuilt by Resco Railways Ltd.
