It was a Massachusetts newspaper called The Lynn Daily Evening Item, in its edition of JANUARY 31st, 1968.

The picture displays a close view of two men posing for pictures as they meet. There is an American citizen in the left side of the picture, and a Brazilian citizen in the right side of the picture. They are exchanging bunting flags of their countries.

The American citizen is Irving Edward Kane, then serving as the mayor of Lynn, Massachusetts, USA. The Brazilian citizen is Estevão Sposito, then the president of the shoemakers union of the Brazilian state of São Paulo.

The caption text is: "MAYOR GREETS BRAZILIAN VISITOR—Mayor Irving E. Kane, left, compared this country's flag with a Brazilian flag yesterday as he spoke with Estevao Sposito, president of the Sao Paulo Local Union of Shoe Workers. Sposito is touring this country with a group of Brazilian shoe union officials. Yesterday they visited the Lynn Independent Industrial Shoe School.".
