The Blackwell Flycatchers are a Professional baseball team based in Blackwell,Oklahoma that began play in 2023. The club is a member of the Pecos League, an independent baseball league which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball.
History[edit]
Announced in November 2022 as an expansion franchise, Blackwell began play in the 2023 season. The team played its home games at Morgan Field. The team played their first game June 1st 2023 vs the Garden City Wind, in which the Blackwell Flycatchers won 9-2. Cade Johnson started the game for the Flycatchers, going 6 innings for the win. The first hit in Flycatchers history was a double by outfielder Jack Skantze.
